About Me

I’m a writer, but I’m many other things too.  I am a wife, a mother, a grandmother.  I’m also a reader.  I enjoy making quilts and playing my mountain dulcimer.  I like to cook and I do like to eat!  This blog will reflect many parts of me. Sometimes I will write about writing.  Occasionally, I’ll have a post about quilting and the dulcimer. I’ll share some of my favorite recipes. Sometimes I write about whatever!

From the time, as a young girl, that I read the Narnia series by C.S. Lewis, I have been hooked on fantasy. I love to read fiction from many genres.  I enjoy reading cozy mysteries, sweet romances, fantasy and science fiction and Christian fiction the best. For years I have had my own fantasy stories spinning around in my head and now that I am retired from many years of teaching, I am putting those stories into book form. Of all my interests, writing is the most satisfying of all. I currently have three e-books available on Amazon, A Singular Gift , A Singular Chance, and A Man For Sylvia.

I live in the great state of Maine with my husband.  I have been a factory worker, a waitress, a librarian, and a teacher. My biggest job was being a mother and I have three grown children. Now I am a grandmother, and I am enjoying that role immensely.

  1. A mountain dulcimer player! 🙂 Wish you lived close to me … I have one and am trying to learn to play it; keep getting interrupted by life, but keep plugging away at it. I play the guitar but have always wanted to play the dulcimer, too. Maybe that’s the Appalachian mountain part of me … I was born in Kentucky, and still love the Appalachians and reading anythng about them and the people who live there.

I love the dulcimer sound. I’m not an expert, by any means. I play for my own enjoyment and like to play the old-timey way, with noter and using the drone strings. Here is a great dulcimer site if you are interested:

  2. What’s the dulcimer site? I’m not seeing it on your comment. Thanks.

  3. Thanks for the site address – I love it and just joined. Looking forward to getting into it more.
